West End Memorial Park and Street Widening Project
The houses in the picture on the left were demolished in order to widen West Main Street and also build a park on that site. In the picture on the right,Kagans old store and the house behind it on Ferry Street were demolished in order to widen Ferry Street and to make it safer to enter and exit the intersection.

In the pictures above you can see that West Main Street was widened by 4 or 5 feet and Ferry Street was widened by a whole lane.Allows school buses and modular homes to make the turn much easier and the demolition of Kagan's building has improved visibility coming out of Ferry Street onto West Main Street reducing the chances of an accident.
